All firearm work is performed on your own physical piece, in the atelier. No engraving, finishing or machining can be carried out remotely from photographs alone; photographs are used only to evaluate the project and develop the design.

Until that is confirmed here, please write to us with your location and the item in question and we will tell you plainly what is and is not possible.

Every JOShaiiia project is evaluated individually.

The final quotation depends on the item, its condition, the complexity of the design, the disciplines selected, the materials and finishes involved, and the amount of hand craftsmanship required.

Nothing begins until you have received and approved a written proposal for your project.

There are two ways to begin.

• Create Project — provide photographs of your piece, select the disciplines you have in mind, upload references and describe your vision.
• Private Consultation — request a conversation for a more complex or highly personal project.

Both routes lead to the same path: a defined project, a written proposal, an approved scope, and scheduled craftsmanship.

Both, and in that order. The design is drawn by hand and refined digitally; the primary cut is then made by precision fibre laser with controlled depth and layered passes. Bright-cutting, shading, borders, relief backgrounds and calligraphic detail are finished by hand under magnification wherever the design calls for it.

We work with Arabic calligraphic traditions alongside Latin lettering and ornamental styles:

Lettering is developed for the composition and for the surface it will live on, rather than a standard computer font placed onto the piece.

Yes, where it is technically appropriate. References may include:

• Family crests and monograms

A reference is usually adapted to suit the material, the surface geometry, the scale and the chosen technique. Not every photograph or artwork can be reproduced identically in metal.

The achievable level of detail depends on the material, the surface geometry, the area available, the scale of the design and the condition of the piece. Each project is evaluated individually to determine an appropriate level of detail.

Yes. Knives are accepted alongside the broader JOShaiiia disciplines — engraving, fine wire inlay, finishing, grips, leatherwork and presentation cases.

A design can be developed around your concept, your references, personal symbolism, lettering or a desired ornamental direction. Engraving, finishes, grips, presentation cases, artwork and lettering can all be shaped to the brief.

When several disciplines are combined they are treated as one composition, so the finished piece reads as a single work rather than a set of separate modifications.

Yes. You should understand and approve the intended artistic direction before any irreversible craftsmanship begins — no irreversible work starts until the design direction is confirmed.

AI imagery in Create Project is a visualization tool, not a promise of the physical result. It helps establish direction, composition, colour, finish, style and mood.

The final design must account for the real geometry, material, scale and technique of your piece. The approved production artwork is the definitive design direction.

Availability of a particular service depends on the individual item, its material, configuration and condition, and on the applicable requirements.

Selected optic-cut work may be available depending on the firearm, its configuration, the optic footprint and the technical requirements. Every item is evaluated before the service is confirmed.

Selected porting and windowing work may be available for appropriate projects. Availability depends on the specific firearm and a technical evaluation of the piece.

Yes, where compatible. The complete project is evaluated as a whole before the final scope is confirmed.

Any modification to a firearm is considered on its own terms. Where a requested modification carries a known trade-off or limitation, you are told before the work is approved.

We never promise an increase in monetary value. What we can create is something different: a piece with greater individuality, craftsmanship, and meaning — made to reflect your vision and meant to be appreciated for years to come.

Turnaround depends on the scope and complexity of the project.

• Single-discipline projects take the least time.
• Multi-discipline projects require additional time.
• Extensive engraving requires significantly longer.

Detailed hand craftsmanship is not rushed.

Changes may be possible before or during the project. Any additional work is quoted separately before it proceeds; the approved proposal defines the original scope.

Client projects are not photographed or published for promotional purposes without the client's permission. Where a project is shown in the portfolio, it is with permission.

Yes. A presentation case can be designed as part of the overall project and tailored to complement the finished piece — treated as part of the presentation of the work rather than packaging around it.

Each finish has its own requirements. Plated finishes, blued surfaces, coated surfaces, wood grips and leather are all handled differently, so care instructions are given for the specific materials and finishes used on your piece rather than as a generic routine.

Possibly, depending on the piece and the work requested. Existing work is evaluated first, before we confirm whether further customization or restoration is appropriate.

Absolutely. Not every project fits a predefined service.
